It looks like my job wants me to look more professional and that means staying well groomed. Now, If you are anything like me, then you can't stand shaving and you prefer to have a beard. Recently I heard about using "beard oil" to help the feel and appearance of facial hair. Has anyone used this before? Also, I am curious to know what some of you guys do to maintain your beards. My father always carried a small comb with him at all times, I thought this was funny when I was younger, but now I understand why.

I'm not allowed to have a beard as part of my contract. Stupid clients. Then again, I also wear a suit to work. I miss my playoff beards though :(

While I'm home off work I grow. Once the full face beard is in I keep it clean. Sometimes I'll just ignore it and let it be.

As for up keep I use a bit of left over head and shoulders I use. Some kind of sport one that conditions also. I'll rub some in my beard and scrub n rinse. Once out of shower ill take a small dab of Vaseline yes you read right and rub it in. I'm talking the size of your pinky tip. Then comb the hairs in the direction they grow.

This sounding like it takes effort is done within seconds. I am not fussy just thinks it neatens up the beard .

I love having hockey beards while in season. Like I stated when I'm back to work they don't allow anything besides a moustache and a small goatee. Has to not affect your respirator fit. Really sucks!

For you guys ever wondering or feeling like a dirt bag when your invited out and everyone is clean shaven. Each one of those dudes is thinking looking at you "fuck I wish I had a bad ass beard"!

That's what I'm talking about! I know how it is wearing a respirator, I worked in a chemical plant for a while and shaving everyday was a pain in the ass...

Vasoline, I might give that a try.

I'm not allowed to grow a beard since i'm in the army. I grew a field stash once. (a stash you grow while deployed in the field but shave off once you are done) It resulted in me being ban for any public places where kids under the age of 16 gather. so no stach or beard for me. although I whish I could sport some handlebars :(

I grew the meanest mustache in Afghanistan. I sported the 'stache even after I got home but eventually got sick of people being like, "dude it's not Movember anymore," I'd always be like, "yo, I just got back from Afghanistan retard so shut the fuck up." But eventually it got annoying and I shaved it.

In the civilian world I tend to shave about once a month. I'll grow the beard out and then shave it once it gets itchy since I'm a pussy and can't stop scratching my face.

I just shampoo my beard when I shower, run a comb through it once a week... I've kind of entered caveman mode... I usually grow out my bread while I work over the summer, but I haven't shaved since February and don't plan to till I move to Vegas.

i gotta shave, i have a quarter inch to half an inch depending on my facial hair's mood that week.  I absolutely despise shaving too, it was the most painful thing ever, but its better now that i use a wet shaving kit and single edge razors.

My son loves it though when its grown out, he likes to scratch the bottom of his feet on it and tickle himself with my chin.  It's adorable.

Man I had a beard like before but I trimmed the long hairs so it was just really thick looking. The worst part of having a beard is it ever comes to a time to shave it off. Holy shit its like your walking around naked. So cold and shit. Having one while playing hockey is so bad ass. I took a puck to the face in our championship game which we won this year. The boys on my team were shitting on me asking me if I was trying to block the puck with my beard haha.

I have a trimming kit that I got for cheap. I just trim it every week or so to make it look presentable. Works well. I think that'll do you fine, Mince. Nothing wrong with beards when they're kempt.

It's funny, some women love the hillbilly/biker type beards, while others think the guys that wear them probably thought the movie "Deliverance" was a love story .

Grammer, I do have to say that your beard is pretty flawless. I definitely need to upgrade my shaving kit.

Just ordered some beard oil; "Massage a few drops into a dry beard to keep it growing thick, soft and clean. Moisturizes dry skin and softens rough hair. Nothing more, nothing less. Smells distinctly manly."

I'll post a full review after a couple weeks, haha.
