trying to find out what the problem could be. ive had my skates for a few seasons. they are bauer x:40s in size 9EE. For about the last half season ive started to get really bad foot pain if i even try and wiggle my toes. feels like my whole foot just cramps up to the point where my foot goes numb. does this sound like just skates being too small now? if thats the case is there anything wider then EE? thanks.

If there's a pressure point then see if you can heat spot it or get it punched.

You might want to try a different model or brand of skate. Some are just made wider. For example: a Supreme D is actually as wide as an E size in other skates.

A Nexus or Supreme EE will be wider than a Vapor EE. It depends on the skate. Some are just built wider.

been reading online alot about the Nexus line being the best bauers for width, might have to take a look into them

Try both the Supremes and the Nexus.  In my experience though, the Nexus is too much volume for most people, especially if you were able to skate in Vapors for so many seasons.  Reeboks and the Easton EQ line fit wider as well.

4 years old are your skates? Maybe the skates are breaking down and your foot has broken through the original skate liner

The added weight will cause your feet to grow/swell , you're right.

I was in a supreme 8d and even with the skates being baked , punched I always felt
Like my foot was never sitting flat.
Went with a supreme 8ee and I was amazed at how great the boot belt felt. No baking or punching needed.

not to sound dark or anything but if this just started to come on suddenly after a few seasons without any problems, it might be worth having a Dr take a look at your foot and see what he says....sure everything is fine but it can't hurt to double check
Do you ever get discoloration when this happens?

Do you by chance overtighten your skates?  I used to have pain in my feet as well (wear size 10.5EE) and didn't go as tight and skated just fine.

Are you also flat footed?

I have a similar issue when I tie my skates super tight my foot goes numb and takes a few minutes before I can put pressure on it after I
take off my skates. For me it's weird it doesn't hurt until I start to take my skates off but it's only when I tie them to tight towards the bottom. I started leaving the first four laces loose and tight at the top 3 works pretty well for me so far.
