oh c'mon people! he's doing the same thing that Baker does just using a higher starting price. it's fairly simple: make the auction Buy It Now for a price that only a looney toon would pay, add the Make Offer button so that people can pitch you a more reasonable amount. when you accept their amount no one knows what the final price was but you and the seller. pretty smart if you ask me.
