Ah so it is. I've never looked at 1S gloves that intently before so I thought maybe it was added afterwards. Plus the extended cuff makes it stand out more.
Here is the same trimming on another pair with normal length cuff:

The type of shins have absolutely nothing to do with you trying to look like you play for the oilers. You go to the trouble of matching everything with pro level gear and then use laces.
Dust.
I mean u might as well use tape as it would probably be quicker than lacing up your shins.

Yeah, they're starting to show some wear and tear....just replaced the liners but the plastic has a lot of cracks goin on
