Recent Pick-ups

Game-used Rasmus Dahlin Sabres gloves finally arrived from Gothenburg. Same exact specs as Erik Karlsson's gloves, down to the funnel cuff and micronash palms. Interesting that he uses an overlay on his bottom hand rather than his top.

Neat specs. Karlsson's back in 4 rolls, but still with that cuff. Is there elastic on the front side? Looks like a clone of the HG12 cuff, which was nice. I just didn't like how it didn't stretch when pulled back. QRL refixed that.

Started out here a few months back looking to replace some Eagle H34s, and came across these locally. Totally shredded. Sent them off to hockey menders to have the palms done. Sunday I'll clean the leather myself as I have a very good commercial leather cleaner and restorer.

I'll probably make a final decision about this after I clean them, but I'm considering dying them a bit darker tan, closer to the kangaroo color and then sealing it. Not concerned about messing up as I dye leather all the time, more about making them even heavier, which I don't think is a good idea.

That's a big LOL. I paid like 10 bucks  or something, plus $90 repalm and some new liners. I have leather cleaner, restorer and pro dye from work. For $100 I'm happy with these, they're not H34s but I only use them for drop-in and pond anyway. Was never much of a Hull fan anyway lol

What’s really the big difference between XP and not? They feel and look the same as my standard gloves minus the PP ones with the plate on the back.

XP is the code for gloves that have full d3o padding throughout the glove. How do you like qlt? How's the fit compare to hg12 in the hand?

I have a ton of CCM gloves so Ivan compare.

HG12 are my fave. Compared to the QL the HG12 are looser on the hand as a whole (I wear all 13”). The HG12 are anatomical and QL are more tapered. The QL are way tighter in the fingers but the cuff does flare a lot. It has a similar spandex cuff idea almost to the HG12 it’s just not nearly long enough nor does it bend much like the 12 does. Sort of seems pointless.

Other than the cuff seeming short they are super nice gloves. Very flexible and broken in out of the box. The foam seems thicker on the QL than the HG12 and I checked my 12 and they have the full D30 fingers too it’s just thicker on the QL. I’d prob say for CCM gloves I like HG12, HG97, tacks then QL for preference. I prefer them to my CL but I still
Enjoy them.

Make it an HG12 cuff on those and I’d buy 5 pairs haha.

If you have patience Pat can definitely swap the hg12 funnel cuff into some QLs. Have you tried the ft1s as well? My issue with the cCLs and QLs is that wide cuff. I love the QRL cuff and wish the 12s had a tighter cuff too

haha I have 2 HG12 all ready and i prefer them to the QL but that’s an idea. May send my warriors to him one day o fix the palm mess.

I personally didn’t like the QRL cuff. It messes with my elbow pads and pushes the gloves off. The HG12 floats over top of it. If i used smaller elbow pads I prob wouldn’t mind them. I just don’t like the post AX1/QR1 warrior stuff. It feels cheap. But I find the QRL cuff is more padded and protective with the tighter fit.

I never had that issue with the elbows and I always found the pro stock qrl cuff to be good protection. The retails were junk. But the 12 cuff is a bit too loose for my preference
