Last I saw the pro has more ports and longer lastin battery life than the air. Things could have changed, but if your planning on doing anything professional with (ie: music, video, photography) I would go with the Pro.

Yeah I'm not really into that stuff, Facebook , iTunes , Sports2k and school
iPad with an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and a stand to hold it while you type.
I wish that this setup was available when I started in college in fall 2006. I could have saved myself a ton of money on my computer and it would have met every single one of my needs in college. I mean, granted, I now have a 15" MacBook Pro, Magic Mouse, Bluetooth Keyboard, 27" HD LG Secondary Monitor, and Wacom Intuos5 digital tablet... But, I am also getting another degree in Graphic Design.

You're not going to lose either way, but if you're just using it for casual web browsing and stuff like that, you'll probably enjoy the MacBook Air more. It really is amazingly thin and portable, and if it's got an SSD for the hard drive, it wakes up in an instant.
I don't have my MacBook Air anymore, but it was definitely a great laptop for everyday use.
