Maybe this is a really dumb question, but whatever i guess haha
So, was there ever a time when custom 9k shells was actually a thing? Like was it ever possible to make a custom 9k pant shell?
I was just think about how unreal that would be. Maybe just a shell to match my adult league team jerseys? Idk, seemed like a cool idea to me. But someone please let me know if this was actually ever a real thing. I don't see why not, right?

for sure it could be done. if you butchered a 'normal' shell you re-use all the pads and plastics. it's a fairly complicated pattern to sew if you wanted something exactly like a real 9K shell, they have a lot of small odd-shaped panels sewn together. people use regular pants shells on top of 9K girdles and they work fine, a simpler pant shell pattern would be a lot easier to sew.
