I'm sure we've all experienced non-paying bidders but with eBay's lack of payment enforcement it's happening more and more often.  These deadbeats are wasting everybody's time.  Sellers need to wait a week to go through the procedures of opening cases and filing non-paying bidder reports before getting their final value fees credited.  During this time they can't really re-list the item or offer it to anyone else just in case that person actually does pay.

The intention of this thread is to bring about these deadbeats so we can all ban them from bidding on our auctions.

brockcornish is the latest culprit, it seems stereotypical that he's a 0 feedback bidder.  He makes an offer on one of my items and I accepted.  He then emails me saying he doesn't want to pay and wants to cancel.

Misshell22- bought 26 shirts and 1 sweatshirt from me for 33 and shipping is 35 for a total of 68 dollars tells me shipping is to high I gave them how much it weighted for all the items plus the box comes out to 32 and change. They tell me use a flat rate 12 box. It obviously won't fit so now they're telling me they don't want it and to resell it after 2 weeks of going back and forth.

The supposed car crash victim just posted "wants Michigan Gear" in the "gear wanted" section after flaking out on his bids for the Red Bull gloves that a member on here listed. Guess ICBC gave him some quick cash ??

Maybe he should pull his head out of his ass and when he wipes his eyes, looks around and realizes he's still logged into Sports2K.com, he'll just fuck off :finger:

I mean what is he....2 ??? People remember shit like that don't they

Wingerkiller7- hope its no one on here but bought 2 shafts from me i gave him a discount on shipping and a few days after tells me he want to return one cause its to short for them and had been cut. I tell them the shaft has not been cut I cut the wood plug. The respond with it has been cut and open a claim. eBay sides with the seller I get the shaft back and the shaft still has a piece of the wood plug I cut in it... He abused the buyer protection to return it. Worst part is he said he wanted full shipping and shaft cost refunded when he didn't pay full shipping for the shaft.

Just out of curiosity how long do you guys wait before you relist an item or whatever when a seller doesnt pay?  I hate people who email you an hour before the auction ends to ask questions like "hey Im bidding/buying on a couple sticks can you combine shipping?"   Then they win the auction and take days to pay?

For me I'll give the buyer a chance to respond to me before I relist. After two weeks negative feedback is left then relisted.

Next Person on the list : sheck_1021

Tells me he is going to BIN ,  doesn't use BIN just bids and wins the auction which is ok. I send him an invoice and he doesnt respond. I message him x days after the auction ends and say I am going to file a NPB because I haven't heard from him and don't want to pay the fees if he isn't going to pay. He responds with this gem:                 "Sorry about that man just went on eBay today and forgot I won it

But now I have to deal with these two people I sold sticks to because my gf shipped sticks to diff address and that want redunds because their freaking out and bitching so I apologize about that just relist your item"

Add another guy to the list boys ....

IMO soon as you hit 'bid' or 'buy it now' you are committing to purchase said item. Ebay needs to keep these people accountable for stuff they commit to... instead the sellers get screwed. I am aware certain things happen but 99% of the excuses these people make are BS.

u don't even wanna hear some of the shit I have to deal with

At least 15 items per month purchased from me never get paid for or buyer just simply vanishes

Ridiculous low ball offers and cheeky immature behaviour

All part of the business

As soon as I get my credit back from eBay I will relist it.  If people contact me ahead of time to make arrangements about combining shipping on several items I'm selling then I am ok with that.  I will do the same with sellers when I'm in the buyer's shoes.  If I win an auction I will email them right away saying I am interested in item B as well.  If I am the winner I will pay for both at the same time.  I've had it happen more than once but often times sellers will just end the auction early for you so you can have that second item (if there are no existing bids).

What I don't want to hear are excuses about not having money, not wanting the item anymore or just unresponsive buyers.  If you do not have money right now or if you are unsure about whether or not you really want the item then please do not bid.  It's a waste of everybody's time.

Here's a few thing I do to at least help combat deadbeats:

1.  Require payment immediately with Buy-It-Now. If they click Buy-It-Now it immediately takes them to a checkout where they must pay or else the auction isn't over.

2.  If I receive an offer which I choose not to accept, I will decline the offer but send a message "Best I can do is $xx if you wish to resend another offer.  This helps against sending a counter-offer which deadlocks your auction for 48 hours and you can't make any edits should they be necessary.

3.  I won't ship outside the US or Canada.  It's simply not worth it.

A few positive things:

I like to review automatically declined offers, sometimes they are just below the amount I'd accept and will send them a message hoping to work something out, saves you from having to choose/accept/decline offers and you can find out why kind of buyer they are.

Either way, you will always deal with deadbeats, but if we maintain this list then we can all watch our backs.

Sioui9...another little prick that won't respond to messages, invoices, or the non-payment case that I opened. Don't bid if you don't have any intention to pay.
