Hey Guys,

So I bought a Stick the other day and was wondering why I was smelling cigarette smoke in my house because I am not a smoker and wasn't around smokers that day. turns out the stick I bought must have been sitting in a smokers basement for what seems like a long time because it wreeks. Not wanting to have my gloves smell like smoke does anyone know of any product that might help take this smell away. I tried Febreeze antibacterial spray and wiped it down but it didn't help at all. Just curious if anyone has had an issue like this before with a stick and what they did to get rid of the smell.

Thanks!

You have a good sense of smell. I probably wouldn't notice such a thing. Good luck

have you removed the end cap and sprayed the inside? I've gotten 2 pairs of gloves recently from the same guy that stunk of cigarette smoke. sprayed them down with febreeze extra strength and that did the trick.

always looking for non Reebok L & XL shells......

White Vinegar, wipe it on, then a damp cloth to remove ----repeat the process and it's good to go.

I bought some easton gx4000 gloves. The older ones like sakic wore. He wore pro 4400 i think. Anyways when I got them all was fine. But after putting my hands in them I must of stirred up the smell. Ciggs for sure. I lysol wiped the insides and sprayed numerous times with alot of different stuff. Still have a hint of smoke smell. When storing them away with gear I did them up in a bag and tied it. So the smell wouldnt spread.

True Story, I filed an eBay claim on a pair of pro gloves a long while ago that came to me smelling like the gloves themselves had been smoking the cigarettes. I got every dime of that money back, and was actually awarded the gloves as well because the seller was so angry he did not want them back.  I think I ended up selling them to a PIAS for $10.

i definitely agree with you guys on the smell part. if i recieved an item that i bought and it reeked of smoke then i'd be pretty pissed. As a none smoker and the stench is unbearable and disgusting. i haven't had that happen to me yet with any object i've bought off ebay, but i would 100% file a claim if the items smelled of smoke.

When you walk by people in a mall or public place and you can smell the smoke on them it's absolutely gross.

Wash it with soap and water?

I think smoker's rarely understand how bad the stench of cigarettes really is. I don't smoke and have a TERRIBLE sense of smell due to spending 10 years working with photo chemicals but the smell of cigarettes on people is just horrible to me.

Thanks for the feedback fellas, worst part is i have an awful sense of smell and yet still stinks. I'll try some of the above suggestions and see what happens biggest bummer is its the exact specs i was looking to try out. But at the same time im not willing to have the palms of my gloves smell like smoke just to try a curve i can get another stick.

I bought a jersey off eBay and it smelled of smoke.  I find things like Febreeze don't really work well because it just blends the smells together.  I used Lysol (spray can) and air it out lots.  The smell wore off in a few days.

If your bag has wheels, you don't.
