I am falling back a bit after my daughter was born. I'm kind of in the same boat as Humberto, in where if I have dealt with you, bs'd with you, or just got on well. Awesome you're cool with me. If not. Meh...

To those who I am happy and blessed to call friends. You guys rock.

There should be a couple of new feedback categories. One for "shops for high end stuff, thinks he should only have to pay low end prices". Another for "wants more photos, wants more description, wants to haggle for a new price, and once you give all that, will never hear from him again".

Perhaps if people started paying a price (even if in reputation) for the WAY they shop, things would start to improve. I'm not talking about anyone in particular, but this has been the general theme as I've been selling more. I can see how it gets frustrating.

I don't see how it is hard for a buyer to have some courtesy and respect, especially in a forum such as this.

Yep. Ruined now. No accountability for being who just drop out and never answer again.

I personally think we should make a thread dedicated to these members...I mean I would wanna know if someone I'm taking my time to deal with did something like this.

On multiple occasions I've had people commit to buying stuff and then just disappear...or my favorite - Paypal isn't working or I don't get paid until Friday then Friday rolls around and they say sorry I bought something else and don't have the money....but could you go any lower?
Though my all time favorite question is "what is the absolute lowest you can go on these?" - makes me laugh every time, what a ridiculous question...

I just wish there was some way to monitor these people coming to the site - it's a shame that we lose participation from some great guys because of a few nerds with no integrity....I would trade 10 of them for a Bakes or a Matt any day.

All that sounds familiar.  Maybe its the same bunch of people.....  I usually meet the "what's the lowest you can go" question with, "what's the highest you're going to go?  You can see the price I listed."

It's true that prices have skyrocketed, anytime you see jofa on a piece of equipment, expect it to be at a high price.

Personally, I've always read, not posted that much, especially for gear since I'm always low on cash. I moved to Europe and shipping costs have slowed if not stopped me from making transactions.

I'm still very interested in learning what there is to learn, but it's true that when you see that hockeymonkey has a pro stock section, you start thinking "maybe it's not so exclusive anymore".

I think some of this is just people learning the nuances of the site.  New people should be required to read a couple sticky posts/FAQ's before posting, and should have to reach a reasonable post limit before conducting any business.  It comes with the territory of a growing site, unfortunately.

I mean, I'm fairly new here, and I definitely needed to learn a few things before I could play with the big boys.

That's the case in MSH, but then it's also a matter of personal belief

Another big change from 2 years ago was member came on here and treated it like a business instead of the hobby it is to most of us on here. Old members on here would buy only what they needed and then moved it on to another for the same price they paid or lower, now people buy a pair of gloves for lets say $125.00 use the crap out of them then try to sell for $175.00 (two years ago that never would of happened) People go and just find deals buy it all up and instead of helping out and making $5-$10 even $20 for their time/ gas money they try to double what they paid and say thats the "friend" price. As always I do laugh at the "im never going to sell this piece of gear" then 12 hours later its for sale or when I get a PM about something from 14 months ago or the hey I see your asking $150 but how about $75...I dont talk to alot of the newer members on here and more or less keep to myself and will comment if I like gear and post my new pick ups but something got lost along the way and its now more business oriented to some on here. I buy what I need / want...I wont go to sale with $1000 in my pockets in hopes to turn around and sell them for $2000. We all buy stuff and after a few weeks the "magic" of owning that item wears off and we sell it sure but some arent here to help others and enjoy the hobby to them its more $ driven. Most on here are still great and hope I meet and chat with they newer guys and I dont mean this directly towards anyone

That suprises me!  You're a "power seller" on here! Lol!

Are there people on here you've traded with in the past?

I typically look at their feedback.  I traded a stick with someone on here and it was a nice, smooth transaction.

Thats the problem...

I'M sure would not have any problems dealing with people she already dealt with before... Problem is, it's hard to trust someone you never dealt with before or someone who just doesnt understand that the seller with the bggest reputation here must receive the item first...

^^ Exactly! Kinda... Haha. People dealing with before I would even still be hesitant. Ty Moore stuff really made me take a step back... He did excellent friendly deals with a lot of people and then asked to trade and BOOM stole a lot of stuff. I've traded with one person off here and we were connected through facebook gear groups before here anyways lol

I mean I get a pretty good idea who I would call "friends" in here just based on messaging and what not but still hesitant like anything online I guess.

A lot plays into how many posts someone has or if I've seen him/her around what not... Even then I'd want them to send me a tracking number first

That makes sense.  It is hard to trust people you've never formally met.  I tend to be more trusting than I should sometimes.  Having a good name and reputation is important to me, no matter where I find myself.

Unfortunately, some people just don't care about how they conduct themselves, and they find websites like this where they really don't care about the importance of community and trust in doing business.
