I heard that they’re launching new skates this summer. Has anyone heard this as well?

Also a quick release blade holder as well.

Anyone having rivet issues after swaping Tuuk holders onto their true wheels?

Steel rivets constantly coming loose, then we swapped out for all copper hoping they would hold. now I’m popping copper rivets loose and completely blowing them out.

At this point I’m tired of skating on loose rivets and constantly having to check them and get them replaced. Might just go back to Bauer now that they’re offering customs.

I had this issue with a pair a year or so back. Had to also go to all coppers, because I kept popping them. Got another pair, and am not even popping the regular rivets at all. Maybe it was a bad batch, or they've improved materials?

What I heard from our shop's True rep was a quick release holder is on the way and that they're going to do a trial run of retail skates (i.e. off the shelf, non-custom) at Pro Hockey Life.

Who knows. It’s really annoying though. Also i creased the shit out of my pair. Sucks because these skates are so comfortable and the over feel and performance is amazing

Happened to me also. Seem to be good once I got them redone.

I think there was discussion on MSH about getting the rivet size right being crucial, as there’s less for the rivets to grip on the interior of the boot.

I heard the quick release is right. And also new tongue.

Regarding the skates, this I haven't heard but I'd be pissed since I just got my second pair a month ago....

This would make sense since they mould so well they would fit the avg person.

This.

You need someone who knows what they are doing.

My first pair I had issues with rivets but I believe it had to do with changing the holders too many times and the holes expanded a bit which is a recipe for the rivets not holding as well.

This time around I had my boots pre drilled specifically for SB holders. I know the holes line up more or less between the true, tuuk, and SB holders but my fitter said it's not perfect and they still need to bevel a couple holes to have it line up.

Just visually, bc the holes were drilled specifically for my holders now, they are all seated perfectly and none are angled like they can be when a rivet is placed in a hole too large.

My fitter also mashes the rivets after so the claws are completely flush, and instead of relying on the claws grabbing, it's anchored flush and won't move (if you look at Bauer retails skates such as the 1x, you'll see that's how the rivets are done as well due to the carbon insole which is harder for rivets to grab onto).

I wonder how many people with true holders from factory have rivet problems.

Can you shoot me a link? I’d greatly appreciate it

No issues with rivets on the two pairs I've had. First pair is pushing five years old.

Yeah this is right. Wider guage coppers and longer steels. I had the same issue with my MLX. Getting this right and it holds alot better.

I had a tendon guard pop off after less than five skates due to the hole not being drilled straight. Sent them an email and they sent me a replacement set at no charge.

Good luck if it's been two years but they may send you the part for free but even it they charge you, I can't imagine it being that pricey. And it shouldn't be more than a couple bucks at a shop to do since it's just a copper rivet. Or you can do it yourself with a t nut or even helmet hardware.

Visit your LHS (where you got them) they can get some for you im sure.

I switched by insoles this week, Superfeet carbon pro and it made a huge difference in the fit. I finally feel more comfy on the ice.

Dupes did you ever give us your review on these? My son has grown into my Super Tacks so Dad is going to get new wheels. Torn between FT1s and True, interest has definitely peaked with True skates so let me know your thoughts. Thanks

I'm still trying to get used to the tight/snug fit.

Adding my Superfeet insoles seems to help me with the performance.
