Does anyone have any insight on the differences between the bauer retail gloves vs the bauer pro stock gloves? I'm particularly looking at any increases in protection between the two since I've taken a few slashes to the hand near the cuff that have hurt along with a hyper extension of my thumb recently. I'm currently wearing a pair of APX2 retail gloves but am looking to either buy a pro stock 1X or 1S.

It depends which pro stock 1X or 1S gloves you end up buying. They all vary based on specs of different players. Some guys use poron padding, shot blockers, thicker liners; than others. Some guys don't use any extra padding so you would find no difference between retail ones. If you hyper extended your thumb, you should go with a pair of 1X or 1S that has a lock thumb.
