The "thats cool but i dont need it" on Ebay thread

None of this should surprise anyone.
People (including members here) bought and flipped the pro stock stuff Hockey Monkey got last year and they'll do it with the gloves picked up at PureHockey this year. Some people go to sales, grab 5 or 6 pairs of pants and all the gloves, socks and laundry bags they can carry, then ask to double and triple the prices that they paid. When it comes to selling something, it is all about making money.
On the flip side, when it comes to paying for something, there are lots of people here who just want to pay as little as possible.
The most irritating people to me are the ones who fit both categories I just listed.
The PureHockey prices were (and are low) compared to what they're priced here and on ebay, which is why there are a bunch of people here who probably bought 2 or 3 pairs.

Here we go again........ Seem like a recursive topic.
You can't shit on people for trying to make a buck and turn a profit... not in a capitalist market. You just can't.
"Well it sucks".... I hear ya but life sucks too and just because it impacts you directly it doesn't suck more. The system works like this and has work like this since the birth of the capitalism. You don't like that system? Well... 2 choices come to mind:
1- Get your ass to whatever position can impact laws of your country and change the system.
2- Move to China, North Korea or any communist county. News flash.... you won't like it.
Again. It sucks. I know. I would never do this cause i'm against it but i won't bark after the people that do this cause ... well ... they can.
Oh and if my life would turn around a pair of glove i would put my money on a shrink and not on pro-stock.
On a personnal note (not an attack i'm just curious).... Gr8 ... dude... you buy like 1000$ worth of gear each month, do you seriously care that somebody is making 100$ profit on a pair of gloves on your butt? Seriously?

I think people don't like this because all they can see is greed. You see someone buy gloves for $100 and flip them for $250, which means they're selfish, sinister, and laughing maniacally as they roll around in the gloves you wanted to buy for a great deal. I get it.
The problem is that this is a gross double-standard for anyone here who sells anything at a profit. While I might not like the fact that some guy bought up a bunch of those gloves and marked them up, I can't fault him for seizing a capitalistic opportunity to make some money. I don't know him or his situation. For all I know, he's desperate for money. But even if he's not... even if he's rolling in money already... should I be mad at him for trying to make more? And isn't this what a ton of people do at equipment sales?

Maverick, you have a habit of not really reading what I said. It started off "none of this should surprise people." It shouldn't. See Novahand's response too.
As for your question, I may buy a lot of gear, but I pass up a TON of gear that I don't think is priced correctly. People can price gear however they want. I don't have to buy it unless I want it. There's nothing Purehockey sold that I'd pay that much for.

That sums it up nicely.

Well you are one of the peoples that goes all out (everytime) against flippers and sorry but you sound (on that specific mather) like a broken record. So you saying "None of this should suprise people" doesn't clear you to everytime say your rant. We get it. Can everybody pass on to another subject or everytime somebody is gonna try to make a profit on something the same people are gonna spit on them?
Nova. Define greed then? You can't... Well you can but everybody will have his own definition. Getting 250$ for 100$ (2.5x) is not ok but is asking 100$ for 10$ (10x) glove ok? Again capitalism economy. That's the 101 course too.
As for Gr8 passing gear it sum's it up quite nicely on my capitalism rant cause....
The value of something is not determined by what you think is the right price but by the price somebody else is willing to pay for that item. Period.
Greatest exemple is paying 1000$ for a 100$ hockey jersey (you know that at 100$ they are making a huge profit already right?)... you don't think somebody is making a astromical profit on these???? You might say no for x reason and i would say yes for y reason but bottom line is the value of something is in the buyers eyes.
