Ive look around the forum but did not find the info i needed so maybe redirect me if theres a thread that can answer my questions.

I saw a lot of you guys use girdle. I use pants and would like to know the pro s and con s of switching to girdle shell combo?

Also is there some doe s and don t like what shell fit on witch girdle?

Im a bauer guy so most likely ill buy or look for bauer stuff.

I like wearing a 9k girdle and I use either 9k shells or other shells over it... It really doesn't matter. I prefer a girdle because instead of owning 7 pairs of pants and taking up a ton of space I can't just have a small pile of shells... plus it's cheaper in the long run ... I also like the snugger fit of the 9k girdle, adjustability, and the lower kidney padding.

Don't get too hooked up on one brand. Go try some girdles on at your local store yo see what you like.
I have tried a few different models before settling on the reebok 9k as well. I like my pants tight around the hip area and loose on the legs so I wear the legs loose like pants. For me the 9k works better because of the adjustable legs for my tall frame. Lots of guys don't like the 9k and find it too bulky though.
So try to find as many as you can in stores first to see if the snug fit of a girdle is for you.

I tried the ccm, warrior, x60 bauer, and 9k. Landed on the last one as it was the best all around fit for me. It was the last one I tried so I like the advice above to try as many as you can

I've switched from pant to 9k girdle and I can say ill never go back to pants!

After that you can buy just a plain black shell i guess. Not a fan of lots of colors.

I've worn a girdle since the mid 80s. Tried pants again for a few weeks a couple years ago and went right back to a girdle.

If you have a few hours to kill and want to do some research, I'd recommend you go over to modsquadhockey.com. Use the advanced search feature, keyword girdle and search in titles only. There are hours to kill in many threads covering specific models, comparing models, pants vs. girdles etc.

Yes you need to register. Sorry, I didn't think of that. It's worth doing though. It's similar to this place in that it is a small, strong, active, community that also has new and less active members as well. Plenty of gear whores over there, the main difference is the content is mostly about retail equipment. There's over 70 threads that pop up on a title search of girdle in the hockey equipment forum, the largest has 179 responses and the least has 0. Lots of info over there to help you decide if a girdle is worth a try and if so to pick the appropriate model for you (there are differences).

I started in a Cooperall Pro and now wear Bauer wrap design (MBP8 I think) and my son recently went from a Bauer X60 to a RBK 9K girdle.
