If you don't like bulk and you're planning to change the shoulder caps anyway, I'm not sure if Jofa would be the best option for you?  Are you buying Jofa  because of the fit, features or the name?

I admit I've purchased pro Jofa/Reebok protective just to try out what the pros wear and it didn't work for me.  They've always felt much too bulky and cumbersome for my liking.

I agree with M. There are plenty of good options that won't require you to pay for the name alone. I also have had Jofa elbows, shins, and shoulders which I ditched because they were too bulky. You're better off getting something cheaper that has a decent chest piece (I'm assuming that's what you want since you're swapping out the shoulders) that will cost you half as much, if not less.

Yeah for sure i want to get in the jofa hype lol. I tought ill do the swapping of the of the shoulder pad since the chest piece look to be comfy. If not im lookong at 5030 s or i love the eagle model but they are damn hard to find a retailer.

I have just had my first practice session with my 8800, and while they do fit well (snug, stayed in place) when I tried them at home on the ice they started to slide & move, so I'll probably change back to my trusted CCM CS.

If you have somewhere to try them on give the CCM CL shoulder pads a try... game changer.

Any shop that carries Sherwood or Eagle can order it in for you.

I wear nothing but Jofa elbows and shins, shoulders on the other hand, hate them. Jofa shoulders always feel to big, bulky, and restrictive. 5030s are nice, Bauer Pro Defenders are too, but once you start really getting into what shoulders pros wear you will see EVERYTHING, so if it's the "wear what pros wear hype", then you are safe wearing anything out there.

I used to have Eagle shouldies, be careful with the size, they run really big. I mean I have ordered M and they felt like XL Bauers. Also Eagle have the biggest shoulder caps in the WORLD )))) they are really huge. The end of the story I sold them and couldnt be more happier.

it looked odd, but i still grabbed a pair...

Yel true about eagle having big shoulder caps. Expensive too for a lookalike of the 5030 model. Eagle were 120$.
