This is probably a dumb question but I've never really paid much attention to the lie as I've always used the same curve for years. Can someone help shed some lifght for me?
Thanks much appreciated!
Shed light on what exactly? If you skate more crouched/lower to the ground you'll typically
Need a lower lie like 4 but if you skate really upright you'd be better off with a higher lie like a 6... It's all personal preference on how someone likes the blade to sit on the ice.

Buster, after using the stick for a couple of times, check to see if the tape wears out at the heel or more evenly. Sometimes the shots tend to come off weak too if the toe is up in the air a bit. I had two Eastons that had a Hall curve that I loved but the lie was too upright.

Cut the stick shorter Buster. Will help compensate for the higher lie of the blade.

Any shorter it will be below my chin and a way higher flex that will be difficult to use at that height.

Not to try to persuade you on this, but one thing to consider is that when you cut your stick down and the flex stiffens, you are also naturally putting more weight into your shot as you lean down on the shaft more. I recently went from chin height to around adam's apple and the results have been nothing but positive for me. I like a whippy stick and my 75 sticks are now up in the 95 range, but I feel my shots both get off quicker and harder now, not to mention the benefits for puck handling/control.
