What is the difference between using a "tape beater" and a "sticky roll" for adding grip? I've tried to make my own sticky roll, by wrapping white stick tape backwards on a junior baseball bat. But it doesn't seem to leave much stickyness. I've seen some NHL guys using one on the bench, and the roll seems to rotate.



Any help on this?
