I was approached a few years back to recreate these jerseys (do the sublimation and then letter + number) and was asked to embroider the old on the back hem. There is a guy who was making these hard to find jerseys by hand for a while, they've been on eBay and jersey collector forums for quite some time. I'm sure that with the profound popularity they've had with these rare thirds, production has increased to a much larger shop by this point.
The short answer is no, they're not legit in the sense that it's not CCM, Nike, Starter, etc. making them, but they're not cheap Chinese knockoffs, either. Yes, there are quite a few Wild Wings out there, too. If you see a new condition Burger King or Wild Wing online and it's not game worn, it's almost 99% guaranteed that it's a reproduction.
The guy claimed to have all of the embroidered logos, letters and numbers.
I refused as I don't need people knocking on my door, however, I'm sure he found someone to do it for him. They're always out there...
Wouldn't surprise me if this was him.
They already wore them on January 14th and were only allowed to use them in pregame warm-up.The Kings are actually wearing these jerseys later on this season for one night, so it is possible that CCM had made another run of them. The Kings are wearing a lot of the jerseys they've worn over the years as a part of their 50 Year Anniversary celebration......
Jerseys were auctioned off and all proceeds went to Kings Care.
