They don't check that the name matches the STH pass though. I've used a friends the last couple years.

You definitely can, do you want anything good? Or just looking for smalls?
If you want to have a chance at getting something worthwhile I'd say arrive as early as possible. The weird jersey people get there around 5:30-5:45

Before everything was gone...
What I managed to grab (HUGE HUGE HUGE thanks to Don from AAA Company for letting me be his guest so I could get in a bit earlier)
A lot of the stuff was taken by full-time employees. Gloves were practically picked clean. Practice socks were picked clean with only size XL and XL+ left. Practice shoes were the big item... normal sizes gone within the first hour. Well-known player numbered helmets were picked clean within the first few hours. Speedwicks were picked clean within the hour with only size XL left. TONS AND TONS of Easton pants were there untouched. Some Reebok ones and a beat-to-hell Warrior hustler was available. Only XL shells. One Bauer Supreme One95 size Large pant, but in beat-to-hell condition. Tons of sticks (including righties) still available. Flexes ranged from 80-120. Most being 95+ and most being Eastons. Lots of Oakley visors, laundry bags, decals, socks (feet), game used socks (shins, mainly XL), laces (skates, 96-120)), and name plates (mainly minors/no names with some traded players left overs). Practice jerseys were teal, white, or black. Ranging from size 56, 58, and 58+. They had some orange ones but they were some "summer jam" or some other logo of the sorts.
For those of you who I have stuff for... wait until tomorrow and I'll have a final cost for you.
