Ok, first of all: Why on earth?? They're awful! Secondly, has anyone had any experience/luck with converting them? I'm feeling very DIY today and I'd like it if I could just slightly modify this pair of mitts I just got.

On the original X70s I'd throw them in the oven then mold the fingers.

Literally into your oven? That worked?

There's supposedly more protection with one piece fingers. I didn't mind them on the original Eagles back in the day but after going split finger there's no looking back.

If your bag has wheels, you don't.

It is a very old school preference. I know Naslund, among others wore them their entire career, and Gomez gave them up just this year. I have several pairs and it takes some getting use to, but after they brake in they tend to follow the contours of your fingers and work very nicely.

That being said, give me split fingers any damn day of the week!

Yup, convection oven, sorta like home-baking a skate.
