This is a really cool thread. I had no idea guys made those modifiactions, but like mincy said it makes sense. Interesting to have straps that tie from the the top too.
Thanks!!
WOW Awesome collection. I'd like to know which players customize their current jerseys now. Definitely not as much as the 80s and 90s. I knew about Hordichuk after almost purchasing one, then my buddy bought an Islanders Tim Jackman that has a fight strap sewn underneath the logo. I saw Vukota's 93 Isles jersey up close, and he used the skate lace and a safety pin to hold it down.
I have a Domi Jets jersey that has the shortened cuffs too with tape around the fight strap. Not sure what the tape did. I guess for reinforcement.
I could look at this stuff for hours.
Thanks - current list of enforcer mods (at least in jerseys I own) is below -
The modified fights straps are awesome! Has me thinking tho... I wonder if any fighters have also modified their pants in any way to strengthen those areas fight straps attach to.
Not that I've ever seen - those loops are pretty strong! Not sure to what they attach the front straps though - belt?
