Whats up All,

Have seen a bunch of guys with 8k elbows remove the extra slash guard. Would like to do the same, but want to keep it clean and have a repair shop redo the original piping. Where/who has done this? Any specific places?

I've removed the slash guard from my Jofa 9177s and that part was easy. You just trim below the navy binding. Then you can take the binding off the extended guard and take that to someone and have them put it back on. The taking it to someone part I cannot help with. There's no one here where I live.

Took apart the threading of the extension, and pulled out the pad.

Going to take them to a tailor, to have them cut the extra material, and re-sew everything back up so looks just like 7k's!
