Hello I need some help with people that have experience with this girdle. I'm between this and the 9k girdle. I know there are a few players in the NHL that sport this girdle Taylor Hall for one. Here are my concerns with the project. There seams to be distinct gabs in the padding and there is no plastic insert in the tail bone piece. The tail bone is just some heavy foam until it gets to the spine guard then there is a plastic insert. Anyone used this girdle for ice have any issues with these 2 functions? Thanks for your help.

You're just in luck, I've hurt my lower back a couple times from falling down and if i had additional padding, it could have helped a lot. I'm currently in the market for some medium one95's now because of this.

I've used the Projekt girdle for a few years and have had no issues vs the Easton S15 Motion I had before that or the Nike Quest 2 pants that preceded those - the only issue I had was with the smaller belt that I replaced with a longer one. With that said, I don't recall falling right on my tail bone. When I'm hauled down, tripped or lose an edge I usually end up falling on my knees or my side rather than back on my tail bone.

I am using a retail version, but I have seen the pro stock version and the padding on that one is beefed up (it's in the same locations, but is thicker).

It's all personal preference I think.

I have a projekt girdle and love it. It's light, protective, comfortable and I can't say that the Spinetek doesn't do its job. The tailbone area runs lighter in padding compared to pants so although it's you're still protected in that area, you might feel the impact just a little bit more if you fall.

9k's are heavy and bulky but offer way more protection. They have pant-like features with the girdle fit... I've used both and have gone back to the Projekt.

iBeck I believe switched to the Projekt Girdle, no? I might be mistaken on the member name but he loves the projekt.

I have both a projekt and a 9k girdle. I find myself using my 9k girdle slightly more as it feels more protective. THe projekt is way lighter, and I tend to wear it more often in pickup, but I usually revert to the ole 9k for games. Both are good though.

If only someone would stop hoarding all the medium one95... :P

I went from the 9k over to the project girdle because of the lightness, but you do give up protection. I'll probably still wear it for practices, but game will have to be something bulkier.

YesI switched and I love it compared to pants. Ive tried on the 9k, one95, totalone and I wesr a projekt and they all offer different things.

Whatever girdle you wear, you're always giving up protection because of gaps (maybe not the 9k) because thats the point of a girdle to help you move better. The chances of getting hit in the gaps are very small.

Its the same thing like any purchase, you have to way the pros and cons of your purchase and base it on your playing situation and level of hockey you play.

Why not just add additional padding to the tailbone area?

^ my kind of of thinking and I did it! Added a full tail bone piece from bauer pants to my warrior girdle. Worked but I still felt the girdle med felt vet small on me. I'm slender so my lack of big ass seems to make me look real skimpy in girdles. I may try a large warrior.
