I cant seem to find a skate that fits me like my old tacks did. I tried every skate out there. The closest skate that fits is the 11k but its still not great. I no longer play competitive just an a/b level beer league 2 nights a week. The problem I'm having with these composite skates is that I don't skate enough to break them in and when I tried lower end models they weren't enough skate for my skill level. I was thinking maybe going with graf but none of the lhs near me have a decent selection. I tried the s17 for a while but they didn't last very long. I have a wide forefoot medium/high instep average heel that's pronounced. Can anyone point me in the right direction that has experience with graf or any skate suggestions?

Try the Nexus 8000. Same problem here, searched a while until I found the perfect one...

I have the same problem, the only fit I found near my tacks is the old Nexus 1000, I think right now you can have it for good price. The Nexus is not soft like the good old tacks, but it's the most similar I found

are the 1000 going to take forever to break in if I'm only skating 2 time a week?

Have you tried baking as well as wearing them around your house for a handful of hours?

my 1000's are baked, and they become break after few month, but honnestly, they will never break like our tacks, but they are the most soft you can get at this time, I think, but it's just my opinion

When I transitioned from my original Total One to my NXG it took about 2 bakes, some punching and about 5-7 ice times for me to be 100% comfortable in them.  It's hard to choose a skate based on just the in-store feel.  See if your LHS will let you demo a pair.  My LHS has a pretty good working relationship with the local Bauer rep so if there's a top end boot you want to try you can just request it.  They take your credit card info down just in case you don't return the skates but it takes the risk out of spending $850 on a boot and not liking it.

If your bag has wheels, you don't.

Thanks for the replies. I'm gonna try the nexus. Looks and feels more like a traditional boot and that's what I'm used to.

if you can't find nexus 1000's I recommend going with the 7000's over the 8000's if you're looking for something similar to an old tacks.  The 8000's are fully curv composite and the 7000's are a tech mesh so they won't be as stiff
