Did the ice feel the same between the time where you got chatter again and the time(s) before where you didn't. You're still on 3/4" radius right? Maybe the ice got worse/softer and you're digging more again.

I had the chatter problem too. It got worse when the ice got softer on humid days. I put in new step steel and made a huge difference. Made makos perform even better.chatter gone.

What holder do you have though. I was told there was no stepsteel available for cxn holder

Thanks, Pure Hockey replaced the steel and sharpened at 3/4 and they were much better.Still got it a bit on real hard stops butquite an improvement. Will give them a couple more skates and see what happens. They were originally going to order stepsteel but evidently couldn't get ahold of any and said they didn't make it any more. They have been more than willing to whatever it takes to solve it so I am gessing they were just misinformed perhaps

Got blades profiled and balanced and skates seem much better. Still not sure I am in love with the over aggressive pitch. My question is does anyone have any experience with shims installed under the front of the holders? I know going with new or different holders changes things but I kind of wanted to stay with stock for now as skates are relatively new. Thanks for any advice. Dave

Man, had this chattering problem recently creep up on me after 4 months of perfect use. I was told from a reputable tech that it was most likely a too sharp/hollow/ice issue. I go with 3/8 and no conditions have changed since it started happening. Really frustrating because they were perfect before. The tech said I should try 7/16 so I did and I'll see if that makes a difference. Short of that, I may be replacing the holders with my old tuuks that have step steel in the I assume the tuuks will remove the forward pitch that the cxn holders have? I like the aggressive pitch.

You can install a heel lift at the same time as the swap if you do go with LS2 or Edge instead of CXN. That way you'll minimally affect the pitch, if at all.

True. I'd just rather do as little modification to them as possible.

Has anyone ever switched out the CXN holders for tuuks? How big of a difference was the pitch? I guess I'm wondering how much of the boot has an influence on pitch (if any) or if it is all created by the golfer itself.

If there is enough on the Stepsteel I believe you can profile them to get the forward pitch the Easton steel has. I am actually doing a little of the opposite. I love the boot but want to put a lifter in the front to neutralize the pitch a touch. I don't like the steel as I have tried all sorts of different configurations and still have chatter. I am going to go with Stepsteel as well. Hopefully this will make me happier with them.

Yah makes sense. It just perplexes me that the steel can be perfectly fine after 4 months then just kind of go to shit after that. But it seems like it's a common problem.

Well I went to a 7/16ths sharpening as opposed to my normal 3/8ths. I did notice a big difference and a reduction of that stuttering motion while stopping. I'd say it's about 90% gone but still slightly there. I'll stick with this hollow until my runners are gone then probably go with Tuuk holders.

Ordered my step steel so when it gets here I will see how much of a difference it makes if any. Hopefully between that and a slight lift in the front we will have success.

Any of you guysswitch holders out aftertrying the CXNs? Still chattering during hard stops and figure I am too much on toes still. Would Turks flatten out the pitch at all and possibly eliminatethis because I never experienced it with APXs.
