Maybe if you offer them a coupon code they'll knock off 10%...
Thanks for the snarky comment.
these dont strike me as a pair that many people would have buyers remorse over and get rid of at cost. Anyhow, goodluck with the search
Yea, I dunno- I guess I was just making an offer that I would have followed up on, with the info that I thought I knew.
This is pretty much the opposite of what you should offer if you want to pry them away from the original purchaser. Anyone who has been in this market and had success will tell you the same. I'm not trying to bust your chops, but there's a reason a few people have already commented on your post. Whoever got them is likely aware of what they're worth. I know I would be. Unless it's one of your good buddies on there that has them, not too many people are going to walk away from the profit they could turn on these, if they even sell them.
I guess I fail to appreciate the profit motive in these transactions.
Anyway, ffter talking with the guy who plucked these gloves from PSH, I learned that they are just Luxes branded as QR1 (and thus do not have the QR1 flex thumb). So, at this point in time, I would not even buy these at cost. I actually play hockey, I am not a collector, so the value for me is just in protection and functionality, and without the flex thumb, these are not worth $200, to me.
Thanks tho for sharing the philosophy that I was previously ignorant to (the profit motive mentality that I could could have sworn I had read posts about, where guys were getting all fired up about, and were mostly against). For me, I really don't care if guys wanna make $$ or not in this little niche market (and thus am not trying to resurrect this argument); I am just here to keep myself happy when I play (light, dry, and mobile), and fully functional when I gotta go to work Monday (protection). If people wanna inflate prices over the new standard of retail pro stock (PSH.com), pffff, that's fine with me. I will continue to offer retail if someone gets to something before I am able to pluck it from the website. And if people wanna get snarky, then whatever, ask my wife if I ever cared about what people thought of me, in person. So, with folk who sit behind a computer and give nice little jabs, whatever, snark away because I will not change, nor will I care to cater to your preferred version of how I shall conduct myself. And if I do not get these items, then so be it, I do not get attached to stuff.
LATE EDIT: Upon further reflection, I realize my wrongness. I should have offered an extra 100 Federal Reserve Notes above retail for these gloves. My most humble apologies for failing to abide by Prescribed Protocols of the Pro Stock Market. I will respect the market. I will respect the market. I will respect the market.
