Got bought out by bauer last month. Apparently the only thing they are continuing from easton are the bags but everything else is done

I'm very sad to see the Mako skate line get scrapped and plan to stock up on a few pairs of Mako 2's if I can find them in my size when they're cleared out. I picked up a couple pairs of original Makos on clearance already and really like them (I use them for both ice and roller). Hopefully Bauer uses some of the technology from the Mako skates at some point.

I've read that the sticks, gloves and protective will be continued for now. Skates and Helmets look like they're toast.

the only stick i could see bauer continuing is the steath line. but they need to make improvements to the durability of it.

I don't feel sorry for Easton at all.  They shot themselves in the foot during those Zimmerman years.

If your bag has wheels, you don't.

Been an Easton guy forever so real bummed.  In fact just grabbed some clearance twigs on hockey monkey with their 30% discount (puck30 expires today) which made each stick $125.99.  Not a bad deal IMO as I got the flex and pattern I wanted.

Hopefully Bauer continues producing Easton twigs, but knowing Bauer they'll kill off everything before you know it.

Just in case I stocked up and snuck in one last order for my customs before they shut down the Mexican manufacturing plant.

From everything I have heard from the Bauer employees I skate with, they didn't even want Easton but they were so cheap they bought them just to get rid of them.  They'll sort through the pile of bones later on and figure out if there is anything worth keeping.  I don't have have high hopes of anything Easton in the future.

looks like Easton still has somewhat of a presence (based on their Twitter and facebook posts):

I wonder how long they will continue to market. If there is one thing you cant measure it is marketing....

Wow, so they DO have a pulse after all.

Strange... with August 5th looming on the horizon, none of the major online hockey retailers seem to have the gloves or sticks up on their websites.  Not even as a tease.
