Since the Pens are out now, does anyone know if they have an equipment sale? I tried asking the organization directly, but no one could give me a straight answer.

They haven't had one in the last few years. I don't expect one either.


I'm 35 mins from Pittsburgh and getting there to line up at 4am wouldn't be a problem..

But I'm saying this now, I can't be taking a list with me with requests. It's been a madhouse in years past.

I run by whatever I can get and then pass it off to you guys. Theres no time to think, it's a run and grab deal there.

Getting there is no problem, as I'm 30-40 minutes away too. I was just wondering if anyone heard of anything, because I haven't. But maybe things will be a little different because of the draft in June? I dunno.

It's all eBay for equipment but they do usually have a PensGear end of year sale where they have a bunch of sticks. Last year sticks were like $129 and most are pretty well used with the exception of players like Comrie, his were all new. Not really worth it unless you're really looking for a specific player's stick. Also, it's a madhouse with people grabbing handfuls of sticks without looking at what they have.

I beleive most of their stuff goes to Ziggy's.

The Penguins Equipment manager was good friends with Ziggy, and closely tied with the shop, a lot of the gear ends up there. The Penguins do what a good deal of teams are doing and why PSHG has a business. They sell bulk loads of equipment. It's easier for them to get everything out at once without the hassle of having a sale. Every year I hope they do an equipment sale again, but I do not think it is coming back.

Just spoke with my friend who works for the Pens. Definitely no equipment sale, and he's unsure if they'll even have their PensGear end of the year sale (merchandise, banners,game used sticks, etc...)

I know last year a certain "rep" was able to come in and buy a large amount of equipment from them, so ya I guess they'd rather not deal with the public...

Spoke with PensGear (there's a satellite location near my office), the "Fan Appreciation Sale" will supposedly take place on May 11/12 at all of their locations, with the Consol location selling banners and other fan ephemera. Apparently they're trying to get some equipment at the sale, the manager didn't seem very confident though.
