I purchased a set of Bauer X Shift Pro's at the end of last season. I have skated on them maybe 20 ice times now and have broken 5 sets of Steel. They came with the LS3 Steel which I broke 3 sets of and now they have moved me to the LS2 Steel which I have broken 2 sets in 3 Ice times. They are sending me the LS4 steel now to try. I have requested a new set of skates as I dont think it is the steel that is the issue as no matter what I put in there they break. They arent breaking from taking pucks of the skates they are just breaking mid stride. I was wondering if anyone has had similar issues. I dont want to move away from Bauer skates as I love the fit.
Bauer Steel Keeps Breaking

Take the skates to a reputable shop and have them see if the holders are mounted poorly. If so, have they drill and remount the holders.

Thanks for the reply SteelNation248. That was the first thing that Bauer had me do when they started breaking and the shop confirmed that they are mounted correctly. I believe it is some issue with the holders. I am concerned about having the holders replaced on brand new skates and I find the rivets only get loser and loser every time you replace them. Is there a way I can check myself the mounting of the holders? What is it I am looking for in a misaligned holder?

I had similar issues with the LS4. I personally can not stand the trigger quick release Tuuk. I haven't broken the blade, but the blade has come off the holder on a hard edge. That should never happen on a high quality skate. I replaced it with the older model LS II Speed Holder and ordered Step Steel ST speed runners on my new 1S skates. Best decision ever. In my opinion the LS3 has been the best steel Bauer has come up with. The LS fusion was a blunder and the LS4 seems to be following in its place. Hope this helps.

I will agree with the other above that it may have something to do with your skate/holder alignment because to break that many steel is pretty crazy. The only thing I broke on the skate a few times are the speedplate insoles.
Out of curiosity what's your weight? Ive heard something where the heftier crowd said they have an issue with the trigger holder in flexing and wearing a bit more, they're around 260lbs ish though so I don't know if this is your case.
