Sorry to post this here, but its the most recent BASE topic going....

 

So what has anyone heard about the new LT stick? Offered in shaft or just OPS only? Any chance it has a rounder shaft shape than the Nasty sticks?

 

The LT will be offered as OPS or tapered shaft and blade. The shaft shape is identical to the Nasty R, which feels a bit smaller a rounder than the Nasty. However, it's not as rounded as something like the Bauer Vapor series.

Been hoping for the Crazy Ovi/Kremlin pattern to be reborn forever. Just came upon this thread by chance.

 

Has this mission succeeded? I went to the Base website and noticed they have a BC08 pattern added to the blade list (no photo), so I am guessing it's a recent addition; maybe as a result of this initiative? It's only in the Junior/Youth section though.

 

Questions, if anyone knows:

 

1. Is the "Bauer Ovechkin" stick that the OP was submitting as a mold a prostock Ovechkin stick or the commercial Bauer with Ovechkin pattern?

 

2. Is this available yet from Base as a senior stick?

It is odd that hockey gear seems to be cheaper for Canadians as the price for hockey gear is almost always the same in usd and CDN, or if not the same, pretty damn close. American folks definitely getting shafted. Pun intended.

Looks like the Ovi is back on the table! Someone came in with an old CCM Crazy Ovi blade, and we're willing to copy it if we can get enough pre-orders. Anyone interested in a LH or RH Crazy Ovi blade or stick should message me ASAP so we can get this thing rolling.

Are there any updates on the status of this project to get the "Crazy Ovi" curve custom re-made & possibly put back into permanent production by BASE hockey?

 

I for one am seriously interested. I'm wondering how many total people are currently on board with this initiative - and how many total people are going to be needed overall for this to become an affordable & practical reality?

 

I was lucky to find a left over left handed Crazy Ovi 2011 U+Plus Pro Crazy Light through an online retailer. I love this curve & the stick - only problem is I was forced to buy it at 100 flex (had no choice). & after cutting it down an additional 4 inches (making it play even stiffer) - it is less then ideal for me (although I'm still happy to have it).

 

I hope who ever is organizing this initiative gets this project going sooner rather then later and will provide me with an update. I will not be losing interest anytime soon.

BIG NEWS!

You Ovi Pro fans are finally getting some tangible progress to seek your teeth into. In the coming weeks, I'll be releasing a feature on the Ovi Pro pattern on the BASE blog, which will be accompanied with a pre-order form on the main page. If we get a pre-order of 40 one-piece sticks (or shaft and blade combos, I'll have to confirm that part), we will produce the Ovi Pro curve in both RH and LH, as a limited edition run until June 6th. The pattern will be a clone of a pro stock Ovechkin stick from his CCM days, so it should be identical to the old CCM Crazy Ovi. If we don't get to 40 pre-orders (which I think is unlikely, considering the amount of interest we've received), we'll be refunding everyone's pre-order. Think of it as new pattern crowdfunding.

We've had a problem with our Ovi Pro blade sample, so BASE is offering a free customized BASE stick of your choice to anyone willing to provide an Ovi pro stock, CCM Crazy Ovi, or Warrior Kremlin stick to make the new BC08 mould. You can get it with the new BC08 Ovi Pro pattern or any other of our curves. The stick may be destroyed in the process. Send me a message if you're interested!
