I read this thread a few weeks ago and did a little Googling. I found a study done in 2014 that concluded that BioSteel did help physical and cognitive performance during a simulated hockey game, so I gave it a shot.
I have to say that I definitely feel the extra juice into the 3rd period since I started using it that I never really felt before. Our team bottles are always full of water, so I can't compare to Gatorade, Powerade, etc., but I definitely think BioSteel lives up to the claims (even if it is just a placebo effect ).
Anybody got a line on the pro stock stuff?
I know a lot more than you about collecting bud, so save the shit

Added a pouch to 900ml of water and took it to a game. Midway through the game I could no longer take the taste of it and switched to water. One of the ingredients is Stevia, which I dont like the taste of especially in yogurt. Ill try it again next time I play to see if I can finish the bottle.
Taste grew on me and I now drink it before the game. During and after the game I drink water.

Bringing this back from the dead seeing how Biosteel is now the official drink of the NHL. I wanted to try it out since it's much healthier than Gatorade and it's pretty good, def not as artificial tasting as other sports drinks. Also a heads up for anyone looking to try it, Vitamin Shoppe has them on clearance, I picked up a few 4 packs and a few powdered packet boxes all at 50% off. I found it in store first then ordered online afterwards, the woman at the store said they're not carrying them anymore so they're clearing them out... my guess/hope is that Biosteel is going to go more mainstream and we'll be able to buy it in regular stores (and hopefully Costco soon, the biggest selling point of Gatorade is that I can get a case for so cheap lol).

Am I the only one that doesn’t like bio steel? I bought the individual powder packets a few months back. Poured it into my water bottle like I would any other powder. The taste was fine but it made my mouth feel ‘gummy’ for lack of a better word. Definitely not hydrating. Constantly felt that I needed to drink actual water or something to quench my thirst. I just stick with Nuun tablets
I found using half the recommended amount makes it considerably better for hydration and you loose the gummy feeling.

I switched to Biosteel a few months ago. I like Gatorade G2 but I was looking for something cleaner. artificial sweetners react with one of my meds and cause kidney stones. the Stevia in Biosteel does not.
always looking for non Reebok L & XL shells......

I used to drink a bottle of Gatorade after games on my drive home (so late night after 11pm beer league games with an hour drive home) and my stomach always seemed to be unsettled when trying to get to sleep. I switched to Biosteel a few weeks ago and my stomach does seem better when going to sleep so it could be part of the solution. I usually drink a BCAA powdered mix during games and use the Biosteel afterwards to rehydrate.

I'd seen it advertised for a while, and we carried it when I worked at Pro Hockey Life years ago, but until this past summer I'd never tried it. Played a golf tournament on a very hot day this year and they gave us each 4 of the little cartons (2 red, 2 white freezy). I know how water and Gatorade make me feel when I drink those while golfing, especially in the heat. I was really impressed by how much better I felt drinking the Biosteel. Tried it after hockey games and felt way better than when I'd rehydrate with water or Gatorade as well. I like too that I can get a case of it at Costco for $18.
