Hey guys after taking a stick almost in the eye and getting my tooth knocked out I'm switching to a cage or fishbowl just wondering which brand and style people prefer and what's better vision wise and or least obstructing. Thanks for the help!

Cage, fishbowl might fog up and you dont have to worry about people asking you to roll down your window all game

I like the high end Bauer cages. They do obstruct vision a bit more than fishbowls but are pretty thin bars due to material and shape.

Bauer Re-Akt FTW!

it's super light and the bars are not obtrusive at all.

All of these suggestions are great.  I've never tried the oreo, but so many college players use it, there has to be a reason.  You can definitely tell a difference in the re-akt and higher end cages as well, with their weight and shape of the bars.

I use the full fishbowl and think it's the best combo of view and protection (hybrid obviously similar), but there are some downsides.  I use the fog free spray from Bauer and don't have a lot of fog issues, but it does happen from time to time depending on the time of year and temp in the rink.  The only other issue is sweat dripping down into view.  Gets annoying sometimes, but have to take the bad with the good I suppose.

I have this cage too, and its great. The bars are oval and you hardly notice them.

Always looking for Toronto Maple Leafs Pro Stock!

I wear this too. Great vision with the visor up top and very good breath-ability with the cage portion down low. The other benefit is that you can change the visor if it gets scratched too badly or broken. I've take some good sticks to the visor this season and haven't had any issues with this setup.

I went from using a Bauer concept ii fishbowl to using a white profile ii cage on my 4500. I miss the great vision from the fishbowl but it would get hot quickly and start to fog towards the end of a game. Imo I prefer the cage to the fishbowl 1. I think it looks better 2. There is no maintenance (cleaning/storing)

I went from cage to fishbowl, I rub washing up liquid on it inside and out at the start off getting changed, then I use a de fog spray and soft cloth and rub it all in about 5 minutes before I go out. It never fogs, the only time I have it fog is when I don't do it. It's saved me from two puck to the mouth a couple of sticks and being 5 foot 6 a fair few elbows.
