I just had a hip surgery and look to keep playing. Fit is best but wanted some insight into pro stock model pants that offer the best hip protection. I was thinking reebok/CCM 520/7000? Thoughts?

Reebok / Ccm 520 or 7000's, both have top level hip protection. 520's have mid section laces & 7000's don't.

Eagle aero pro, lots of protection, plus you can order custom.

My vote would go to the Easton 700 pants. These are tanks and are heavier but have great protection. I put a link below to a pair on ebay

I have reebok 520 and imo they have the best thickest hip protection.

it looked odd, but i still grabbed a pair...

I have a similar problem and looking to upgrade from my old Bauer supreme pro pants. I didn't really find any 520/hp 35 in medium. What about warrior franchises/hustlers? I read that they are pretty protective too

I have franchises as well and i think they are a little bit thin in hip and tailbone area protection. But much lighter than 520s. So for tough games i prefer 520 and for practices franchise.

I think you could get very comparable padding (but shorter kidney padding) with the HP45x but save a lot of weight probably have more options, and an easier time finding a new pair.   Theyre pretty beefy but not as heavy as some of the other options

Got some HP45x in large now (thanks for the tip fooj). Coming from Bauer supreme pro pants in medium and they even feel a bit tighter then the supremes although I just used them once yet, so I still have to brake them in. They feel like there are less gaps protecion wise in the uppers, so I hope they will keeps the hips safe. Definitely lighter and dry faster than the supremes which is nice, although they don't feel as beefy as the Bauers, but that might just be because they are lighter.

I would suggest Bauer Nexus. I just got a pair, and they are tanks. Lightweight and comfortable as well. Probably the best pair of pants I've ever owned. I play defense so I wanted something with protection.

Justhockey1234 on eBay might have some Bauer pants with the extra hip pads in them. I had a pair before, and man are they protective. Not easy to sit or move in, but if you go down you aren't feeling anything!

The 7000s or hp70s are descent in the front and sides but awful in the back of the pant. Theyre great if you like bruised tailbones

I recently had my hip replaced and I am using the top line nexus pants. I have taken a fall here there and it has a lot of padding but are heavy but I don't mind it
