Not a huge fan of my plain old Bauer bag, so I've been looking for something with dedicated skate pockets and more space for organization.

The pro stock stuff is out there, but I'm not sure I want to spend $300 on a hockey bag.  I've come across the Mammoth IPA 2.0 and was wondering whether anyone has used them and what the general concensus is on them.

Any thoughts?

I'm definitely open to other options, so if there's something better, let me know.

Don't personally own one, but I have heard good things.  Also be sure to check out Pacific Rink's player bag.

One of my friends just bought one - it looks really durable and has lots of space for gear.  Looks like a great, high quality bag.

Personally, I have the original IPA Bag (1.0?) and I absolutely love it. The bag is extremely durable, and just the right size for all of my equipment. It has taken a couple years of traveling, being thrown in and out of a truck bed, and countless trips to rinks. I cannot recommend them enough... worth every penny.

About once a month or so, if you email them they'll put you on the wait list.

You say u don't want to spend $300 on a pro bag, but that mammoth bag is already $220, at that point what's another $80

I guess my point was that the pro bags don't have as many features as the Mammoth/Pacific Rink at a higher price.  When you think about it, it's $300 for the pro bag, another $20 for a laundry bag, and another $40 for a hygiene bag.  At that point, you can get 2 Pacific Rink bags.

I ended up picking up one of the Pacific Rink bags just because I'm too impatient to wait for the Mammoth bags to come back in stock.  Knowing my luck, a Flyers bag will pop up on eBay today and I'll be posting the Pacific Rink for sale later this week.

I use the Mammoth bag and have loved it. It's just a bag in the end, but a good quality one. I do like the fact that the inside is grey, makes it easy to find little things at the bottom. Also, I couldn't begin to count the number of teammate's beers I've opened with it!

that's a good idea, i'm pretty sure forte in london ontario does custom stuff too if needed. you can find their webiste as well and they have a catalogue up somewhere.

i do agree with you on the point of all the cool pockets and whatnot in the pacific rink bag. After you mentioned it i went onto their website just to check out their stuff and watched the bag video. I will admit i really like their features such as a designated spot for your skates, dry clothing, wet clothing and other features. They really put a lot of thought into their product. That's the one thing pro bags are missing for sure. The bag i use has one interior pocket for my water bottle and shampoo and a number tag pocket on the outside of the bag. I keep everything like my jersey, base layers and dry clothing in a laundry bag and i keep a toiletry for carrying my wax, scissors, deoderant and other little knick knacks. I used to have a bauer premium bag way back that had really nice side pockets and some internal pockets and i miss that. The only thing my new bag does better than the old one is add +10 to swag points.

so the lesson to this is Swag is everything....
