Don't know the stick length but he uses a p10. Real high lie like 6.5-7

I have seen 107 in the past

+1. extra stiff shaft/blade

curious about the height as well. i wonder if many players get their sticks made at the height they like them.  like when you see pro stock sticks, is that the actual height the player uses or do they cut/add.

i saw a few kane sticks at Duke's a few weeks ago and they seemed retail bauer height.

I've wondered about that, too.  Whenever you see locker room videos, players are always on the saw cutting their sticks down.  Seems strange to order everything to their exact specs except for the height.  Maybe they like the flexibility in being able to play around with a taller stick without adding plugs, who knows.

I tried out a Kane APX 2 in warmups once.  At the height he cuts them at, I'm even more astonished at his skills with it.  It felt like a steel girder in my hands.  I have no clue how that guy does what he does with it.

I think that, at least with bauer, they just manufacture each stick at stock or + height, and always rates the flex at stock heigh  Just keeps it more consistent and makes the person ordering adjust from there.  I think easton is different but we still dont have a solid idea

An o33 is a first gen total one, which has a mid kick usually comes with and works best with a soft blade. Ofcourse pros can get whatever they want but it sounds weird that he's get an extra stiff blade but use the o33 build

Mid kick sticks are paired with softer blades so that the puck receives maximum loading. The shafts loads slower so you want the puck on the blade longer to take advantage.

Vapor sticks for instance have stiffer blades where the puck comes off the blade as quickly as possible. This mirrors the flex of the shaft and maximizes performance.

The only reason to mix and match blades would be for personal feel preferences.

Always looking for 15" four roll/nexus gloves

So it would be something like:

Mid kick + soft blade = max velocity, slowest release time

Mid kick + stiff blade = med velocity, med release time

Low kick + soft blade = med velocity, med release time

Low kick + stiff blade = min velocity, quickest release time

Is that roughly how it works?

Custom everything.

i wouldnt over think it that much.  Youll never see a stiff blade on a mid kick or a soft blade on a low kick unless its custom ordered.  They just work against each other.  The the stiff blade or low kick will react before the mid kick or soft blade has loaded up, just not efficient.

The lag from the mid kick and soft blade loading up is what gets you the extra power, same thing with the low kick and stiff blades for quick release.
