Montreal actually uses an odd color for their royal. They use Pantone 2758, which is technically royal, however, different than Edmonton, NYI, or Toronto 281 (I've heard rumor of Oilers going to navy from royal with the change to orange jerseys).What shade of blue are the Habs WC gloves? Do any other teams use that blue?
Many years ago (02-03ish?), the league allowed use of a standard royal or navy, depending upon what the manufacturers wanted.
Not sure if anything has changed in the years since.

The pair of WC AX1 I have are very close to Canucks colors IMO.

Couldn't agree more with Junkyard. At one of my former summer jobs (3 years ago) , I was responsible for sorting pro helmets and telling the difference between Montreal and Royal was near impossible. Had to put it under a specific light to tell the difference.

that would be disappointing to see oilers go to navy with the orange. It finally feels like color is back in the nhl, I was hoping the late 90's/early 00's push for darker & muted colors had ended.

Thanks for the input. Based on pictures that I have seen, Vancouver gloves are very similar in color to the Habs WC.

I know TBL blue is definitely darker than my Habs WC pants
TBL is PMS 281, and don't compare the polyester material used in gloves to the nylon 420 in pants. You will only truly achieve color matching from one to the other via sublimation, and no company is going incur the cost of sublimation to match a specific color. It isn't cost effective (and yes I know Warrior AK27 glove was sublimated)
Thanks for the input. Based on pictures that I have seen, Vancouver gloves are very similar in color to the Habs WC.
Perfect example the difference in the lighting of these photos. The second Montreal photo appears to be much more royal than the first, which I'd agree, matches closer to that of Vancouver, which, is PMS 281 as well.

the different materials used by each brand also makes certain colors look a tad darker/lighter
