For all you guys worried about a 58 versus a 56, essentially it is an extra inch in the sleeves.  I'm an average size adult, and they fit average size adults.

I can't help but notice 56 is popular and everyone is scared of the 58......  well, there's not that much of a difference.   See if this helps:

 

Teal is the Habs 56

Red is the Oilers 58

Purple is the Kings 58+

 

I'm 5'10, 195 and have no problems with a 58.

There's literally no difference in the fit on the body, it's just the sleeves that are noticeable for me, and I wear 56 or 58 and don't really care or see a huge difference.

People that are scared of 58 are probably borderline pushing 56 at times. Not everyone is your height and weight.

I'm taller than you but not as much weight but still prefer a 56. It all depends on your build. I've worn 58's as well, but prefer the fit of a 56 as and inch on each side does translate to a little more baggyness depending on your height and weight

Also depends if u wear shoulders or not, if you're roughly around our builds 58 with shoulders can fit easily, but if u don't shoulders 58 is big.

And if you're not a pro size but want to wear pro clothing, you might not want to shop in the pro section. Marchand wears a 56. Just saying.

So anyway if anyone is thinking I wish those were 56s, see the photo and be the judge about how much bigger a 58 is.

Thanks for this. I have always shy'ed away from looking at 58's, but now I'll think otherwise. I never realized they were so similar to 56. Now maybe throw a 54 on top of the pile and we can have the whole spectrum.

each one only slightly bigger than the other, but once you add them up the 58 looks gigantic compared to the 52

 

i am 5 ft 8 155lbs and i can get away with wearing anything from 52 to 56s, with the 54 being the best fit.

Is there anyway you could do a comparison shot of the 58+ versus a 58 goalie cut? I'd be interested if there isn't much of a difference
