Where do I begin?

There's Warrior fans... and then there's Whorriors. I am the latter.

My legal name is Huckleberry Nathanial Sauce. I go by Huck N. Sauce on the ice, mostly because I sling more sauce than Chef Boyardee. But that's a tale for another day.

My days typically start with a warm cup of melted rink ice and fond memories of the goalie I made weep the night before. Then I hop on social media to talk about gear to anyone who will listen. Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, WhatsApp... You name it, I'm in their heads.

Should I be a VIP? Well, that's up to you. I guess the question is, do you want people to see me torching twine and burning 5-holes with my laser light show on the ice with the new Alpha QX? I can't imagine a world where the answer to that question is "no."

I'm ready.

Well this was completely unexpected...

Big thanks to Dupes and Warrior Hockey for making this a reality for me. There's plenty of solid dudes on this site that are far more deserving of this, so I'm super grateful and humbled at the same time.

I genuinely can't wait to try this stick out.

I suppose my first day with the stick will look something like this...

Get up out of bed, throw on some pants, and drag the stick out from under the covers. We walk into the kitchen. The sunlight casts a warm glow over the room. I'll pour us both a chilled glass of orange juice while we talk about what color tape she's gonna wear that night. Should we go black/black? White/White? Full sleeve on the blade? Or maybe that retro jam that "Chubbs" Benn is all about... just a couple wraps of the tape to keep the boys peeking. We laugh as if we've known each other since childhood.

I'm sure the conversation will turn to how many goals we're going to pot that night. That awkward song and dance of whether or not to play at 100% speed in beer league, or lay off a little and only score 6 goals. Later that night I'll drop the AlphaQX in an ice bath while it cools off from being fire incarnate, and we'll reminisce about the shattered hopes of the goalie we laid waste to.

Should be a good time. I'll post pics.



But seriously, I'm super grateful guys. This is awesome for a guy like me and I know there's others here that would equally love a shot at this. I consider myself very fortunate and wanted to express my gratitude.

I think the amount of Warrior gear you own should be inversely proportional to your chances of being a picked VIP. I get that you want to reward people who are loyal to your brand, but I think it's the wrong way to go about the marketing. The reasoning is, since the VIP marketing program is to build hype for a not-yet-released product, you'd want to target players who aren't already die-hard Warrior fans since you know they die-hards are going to buy your product anyway. If you want more sales, you want to get people who have little experience/exposure to Warrior in order to build interest and hype and convert customers of other brands to yours. I would be more inclined to listen to the purchase recommendation of a guy that before only ever used CCM or Bauer and all of a sudden is saying that this new Warrior stick or glove he got is the best thing he's ever used than someone who rolls up decked out in Warrior from head to toe trying to tell me to buy their latest product. It's "You've been a Bauer guy your whole life and now you're singing the praises of this QX stick? I gotta check it out!" vs. "You wear nothing but Warrior, of course you'd be talking about how 'great' it is."

But that's just me.

In regards to what 90style said, I think that Warrior has a pretty strong marketing game. They're just trying to flood social media with a new product. And they're rewarding those who do it on a daily basis. I get what your saying though about converting a Bauer, CCM or other manufacture user to warrior by giving them a stick to try out. I've skated with a bunch of guys on this site and we always try on each other's gloves and share sticks in warmups. That's the best review I can get on a product. I really dont believe any of the praise on social media. I just pay attention to the negative because chances are thats what I will experience.
