Jesus. I don't know which is worst. All I know is that I'm going to leave you both negative feedback because I disagree with how you guys are conducting yourselves.

I use the straps on my shins, but I still use clear tape on top.

Clear up top over the sock, clear under on the bottom around the shin guard. Leaves it for a very clean minimalistic look with a solid shin to skate transition

When I'm not playing D and I size down to 15" shins it's the only way to go for the cleanest look

I do all of my taping under the sock. I wear knee high skate socks so no tape is seen once the hockey sock gets pulled down. Probably doesn't look as good as I hope it does. Haha

Just up top below the knee. I wear CCM Tacks Ultra Pro shins with Edge socks, and the straps and socks keep everything tight. The clear tape up top is mainly to keep the shin even tighter around my knee to avoid shifting, and out of habit. If I didn't have straps on the shins I might do more tape.

I've seen clear over white by Hawks players. It's because the white doesn't stretch, so it keeps the pad more secure. Then the clear over because it sticks more and is resistant to ice/water. I can't remember off the top of my head but there's also a specific brand of tape that the Hawks use.

Most guys look like they jsut use white but some guys have clear then try to cover it up with the white but dont get everything, possibly reversed but it didnt look shiny to me when i saw it

i'll either do top and bottom in one continuous piece or just a thick wrap on top ala karlsson depending on how I'm feeling. Always clear or coloured shin tape


Also, does anyone know why ALL chicago players use white tape on their shins?
