I'm currently using a P28, have been for a while now and I like it a lot but I've always wanted a toed up P88 because of how I shoot. This thing seems perfect but I'm curious as to when it'll actually be available and in what Stick line.

It's only going to be available on the 2.0 afaik. At least, that's the first line that will have it. I'm guessing they'll add it to the Ribcor and RBZ lines with the next gens.

I figured it'd be difficult to get my hands on one without having to pay full retail for a stick.

According to their site, it'll be on the 7092, 5092, and 3092 as well: http://www.ccmhockey...4pwpg2pp5g9rsk5 http://www.ccmhockey...4pwpg2pp5g9rsk5 http://www.ccmhockey...4pwpg2pp5g9rsk5

Is it just me or does that ccm p30 clone look like a clone of bauers p14? The curve on the blade chart looks similar... Either way it looks super nice might have to give it a try now that ccm is moving to 18k Carbon

It's a P88 with a shaved P28 toe

A Scott Bjugstad version of a P88. Im assuming that the toe isn't so squared that if you load up on the toe it's not just a corner of the blade touching the ice.

Anyone got a real pic from above?

So I went into the store today to check out the new P30 only to noticed a strong similarity to Bauers P14. The short blade kind of caught my eye. Here are some pics next to the P14. IMO it's basically the same thing...

Wow, thats pretty disappointing. I guess they're trying to hype it through the Bjugstad name.

I thought P30 was Parise? Also, it seems the P30 has slightly more depth than the P14.

The P30 is a hair longer but still very short. The pictures may not tell the whole story but when I saw them in person I had no idea about the comparison until I had the P30 in hand and said wait a minute... this looks familiar. I got a P14 off the rack and yup. For me I was expecting the "P88 with toe" not a P14 toe curve. Personally I'm not even interested after seeing the similarities and I'm pretty sure Bauer is killing off the P14.

They don't play the same. What you're saying is like saying the p28 and the p92 are the same cause they kinda look it.

No this isn't "kinda look it", these two compare like a honey crisp apple and a Fuji apple. The P14 was developed by Scott Bjugstad and so wasn't the P30, they are almost identical. The P92 and P28 and not. There are barely any differences between these two patterns and anyone that believes otherwise regarding the P30/P14 is drinking the CCM koolaid.

Bjugstad designed the original "kreps" pattern too that developed into the p28, that's totally irrelevant that he designed them both. The p30 is way more closed where as the p14 opens halfway down the blade, the only part of the toe that curves is the bottom "corner" of it where as the p14 twists entirely. They are extremely different to play and shoot, they have a similar profile that's about it.

Adam have you used the p30? I'm looking to get into a new curve and haven't had much luck with p28. Was wondering if you could comment what you liked and didn't like from p30 and what you use normally. Thanks!

I've used it passively on a shooting pad at a net when they first arrived at my store. I usually use p28 clones. I liked that the curve was more closed, I felt that my shots had a touch more accuracy when aiming high, with the p28 I feel as though I need to somewhat restrict my release for lack of a better term. I also am a big fan of how subtle the little kink at the toe is, makes it very easy for saucer passes and again, more controlled in my passing. The only thing I don't like is that the blade is a touch too short for my personal liking, literally like half an inch, but again that can be just my lack of use compared to p28 curves. I found the transition quite seamless in terms of lie and rocker

You summed up my only issue with the p28. Been using it exclusively for 2 years now and I still feel like I have to control my follow through more than other curves require.
