I've done a search on here and MSH, but I wasn't able to find a direct comparison between these pants. What are the major differences, besides the spine protector? Weight, padding, size, etc.? I had a pair of HP45s in medium that I liked, but they were in rough shape. Currently wearing Bauer Nexus pants in medium, not sure if I want to make a move away, but I'm not totally fond of the very high spine protector on them. Otherwise they're perfect. Any help would be appreciated.

I've had both. Hp35 is an overseas version of the mhp520 vented(echl) just older materials but with more mesh than the normal 520, very traditional pant. Hp45x is obviously the more padded version of the hp45. Id much rathe go with the 45x bc even tho it is stiffer and needs more break in than the normal hp45 or CL, it's quicker easier than the hp35/520 imo. I think you'll find them both a bit stiff compared to the nexus

I think they might be similar in weight, if not maybe the 45x is a tad lighter. I think the hp45 fits shorter.

Hp70 is the overseas version of the mhp7000, the tackles 5000x remake. The hp70 fits smaller than the 7000 tho

HP35 is a better pant in my opinion. Lots of room, but not super bulky. I wear the HP45s/UCLPs which are just lighter.

45X have a zipper allowing for an extra inch in length.

The hp70s padding in the back of the pants is awful. I have the bew pens retro hp70s and im going back to girdles, have a total one but looking at the new supertacks or 9k
