I know they say that the best helmet is the one that fits your head the best regardless of technology but I was curious to see if the the new $200-300 helmets are worth it. I never liked any Bauer helmet but the 7500 fits great, 4500 was meh but mostly looks. I've worn Resistance, IMS 9.0, V08 and tried on Reakt and Fitlite. The Reakt feels the best and the IMS 9.0 is great but at $140-200 new for these and the used market not being that much cheaper I'm wondering if it's actually worth it when 7500s are cheap.

You've worn all of those helmets yourself so why not answer your own question

There's a difference between wearing the helmets and not encountering and incident and knowing whether or not one helmet is considered to be significantly safer. Your theory only makes sense if I had worn all the helmets and happened to be the crash dummy for the testing too.

What do you mean by "safer"?  Nothing on the market will prevent concussions, but fractures are a completely separate and preventable injury by pretty much everything out there.

I have a history of concussions, so I did a lot of reading when I was looking for a helmet.  I walked into my LHS and asked what they'd recommend, their immediate answer was the ReAkt and I'd be willing to bet that it was because it was the most expensive.  It's easy to think that an expensive helmet is going to protect you better, but it's just not the case.

If you're worried about concussions, get the cheapest helmet you can find because it's not going to help.

Max steez.

I know a lot more than you about collecting bud, so save the shit

Pretty much what I was looking for. Is all this $200-300 Tech going to prevent or save me from another concussion? Guess not.
