If I cut a stick down two inches only to add a two inch extension to the stick how would it affect the flex? Would it still be stiffer than it originally was or would it remain the same?

It's hard to give answer to this question as it has so many variables.

Technically it's going to depend on the stiffness of the shaft you have (120 or 65 flex) then the stiffness of the extension. I've never seen a flex rating marked on a carbon extension and wooden extensions are all different because of the material variances, so there's always going to be so degree of unknown.

In my experience it will stiffen the shaft slightly but the real advantage is it dampens the feel of the stick.

Take away an inch only to add an inch is really only going to mess with balance. Some guys like me cut two inches just to replace it with two inches of wood extension to play with balance and top hand feel via sandpaper

I had some Warrior 75's I trimmed 4" and added a 4" comp plug to make them 80's. Worked well but there was some trial and error involved
