I always found it strange that they make them tape over all the team logos. They're all pro, I don't think anyone is going to be trying to show anyone up by having their NHL team logo showing on their gear

You actually think they cover the logos because they don't want to show each other up? 😂

You think they cover up the logos cuz god forbid the NHL sees them using their logos for a summer training camp? Because if that's the case then every trainer and player who posts their videos on Instagram is going to get a call from a lawyer

No, it's because this is very obviously an ad for biosteel, and the NHL didnt and won't give them permission to share the logos in association with their brand unless they pay the $$$$ (which they obviously won't). It's not rocket science.

That's what I initially thought too but then why does every brand from Bauer/Warrior/Easton etc get their stuff splattered all over helmets, gloves, pants etc? Is bio steel actually making money off of this? As far as I understood it was just a summer camp for GTA guys

BioSteel isnt a partner of the NHL, therefor they arent allowed to use their logos anywhere (including team logos).

Its a summer camp yes, but its also a marketing event for BioSteel.

Vids were a lot better in the past. Half the video is just dudes working out.

With more marketing being done via Instagram each year, they've likely switched to the one minute videos to conform to the one minute limit on that platform. We had to cut down many of our promotional videos at work for the same reason. As long as popular apps focus on short attention span content, expect more of this in the future.
