I've got a skate blade pouch, and i've tried taping the bottoms but rust is creeping onto my spare steel in my trinket bag no matter what I try.  Any tips to keep the moisture away from them for storing them in the hockey bag?  Thanks!

I use the plastic Bauer blade box & put a few dessicant(sp?) packs in there, I use the small salt packet sized ones that came in a pair of shoes. Not sure if they'll fit in a blade pouch but may be worth a try...

I use a skate soaker for my extra steel.

If your bag has wheels, you don't.

Wipe them down with some oil before putging them away.

Wipe them dry! Best way to prevent rust off the get go. Second would be to wrap them in something that absorbs moisture, ie. blade soakers, towels, etc. Another idea would be leave them out to air dry before storing them away for a while. I don't have extra steel but I do the same thing with the steel on my skates and i've never had rust on them. I always take my skates out of the bag and hang them upside down to dry them out, works like a charm.

Keeping them in a pocket apart from sweaty gear will also help

Good Idea; Whistling while you work.

Bad Idea; Whistling while you eat.
