I posted earlier today about picking up a pair of reebok pro stock small pants. mediums never fit me right in the waist as I'm about 5 foot 11 inches but really skinny. I was just told by the seller the waist would be fine but they may run a bit short on me.

so my 2 questions are can pants be lengthened and if so does anybody have any recommendations on a shop that I can mail them to. I'm sure it won't be cheap but nobody in my area even does any of this kind of work so I'm either going to give it a try or just probably resell these.

Thanks!
Jamie

Toronto Hockey Repair can probably do them; they've done repairs on pants for me before and did a nice job.

I think it depends on what you are having done. if you are just adding length and not padding along with length... i'd say why not...

call peaches pro repair.

Not sure if you're into DIY, but if it were me, here's what I'd do:

-Assuming those 520s are two-piece pants (the Supra 520s I had a few year ago were), then lengthening should be fairly easy.
-I'd separate the lower from the upper, then find some heavy nylon fabric from any fabric store and sew in a few inches of extra material at the top of the uppers (depending on how much you need).
-If you want to get fancy about it, instead of sewing in, you could just cut the material to size, then install buttons on the bottom to attach the lowers and make button holes on the top to attach to the upper. Then you have a fully-removable/customizable "mid-piece" between the upper and lower to lengthen/shorten the pants.
-Alternatively, you could find another lower or shell and cut out some material around the waist to create this mid-piece (i.e., not do it from scratch).

In terms of how to sew all this stuff, any standard home-use sewing machine will be powerful enough to sew through the nylon on those pants.

I wouldn't go to all that trouble. I think if that were an option for him, he wouldn't have posed this question to begin with.

have you ever thought about just going through the warrior customizer and getting custom franchise pants. they have a chart of the inseam lengths and adjustments available and they'd be specifically for you. Why get pro stock when you can get something designed to fit you.

Small girdle. Medium shell. Be set for life

That's a good suggestion, but I'm confused--I thought the OP was talking about a pair of pants that he bought and wanted to modify to make the legs longer. Oh well.

with regards to the girdle and shell... can a combination be comfortably worn for D league hockey or is it overkill? definitely some contact but not killer hits

Just trying to offer a better and easier life long solution, plus you can turn any pair if pants into a shell by removing the padding and it would sit around the waist instead of the hips about 1 1/2" lower and would then be longer which is what he wanted...

This might be a dumb question, buy will any shell fit any girdle? Also does size mixing work (small girdle/med shell)?

Yes, you can always wear a bigger a shell and sometimes smaller but as long as you stay reasonable with it. I personally prefer a large girdle and XL shell but do also wear large shells. If a shell is aver too long you can roll it up at the top and save 2 or 3" of length
