Not the greatest pic but shows you that CCM is coming out with their own version of a quick release blade. Best part about it is they are teaming up with STEP steel and all high end custom skates with these holders will come with Step steel. The steel is released by turning that black dial/knob on the back part of the blade. All parts are replaceable and can be repaired if something fails.

Really smart that they decided to go with a company like step steel with that kind of reputation. Wish Bauer just did that off the start instead of using their crappy steel.

Looking for BIOSTEEL jersey made by UA or Adidas.

Looking for Bauer Pro defender elbows size Large

I heard its only available to the pro's/Div 1 players for next season on high end top of the line skates, maybe its still in the "prototype" phase? After next season it will be available to the general public. Not sure on the accuracy of this but it makes sense.

Bauer steel isn't that bad.  The fusion steel had issues but their current offerings are fine.  I had a NHLer take his skates into my shop one summer and he was skating on Super Stainless.  I asked if he wanted to upgrade but he didn't care to change because that's what he was given.

Bauer is definitely more prone to cracking. They say they have corrected the issue, but I’m not willing to find out. When you’re a pro and have endless supply to steel, you don’t really care about much in general.

I did crack two sets of ls4 on my previous skates, this was when step for light speed edge wasn’t out yet. Glad I made the switch, never looked back.

Pros will still care about reliability.  They'd have the steel changed if they didn't trust it.  Bauer definitely had issues with certain blades (first run LS4, original Lightspeed, Fusion) but to say Bauer is more prone to cracking is an overstatement.  I've seen virtually every brand come in for a replacement and all types of scalloped steel were the most notorious for breaking.

I'm running 3 sets of LS4; one of them being the original "bad batch" that came on the first run 1X skates.  No issues with anything.

Slowly being tested. Their official testing team was supposed to use them this season but they needed more fine tuning before they could withstand heavy usage.

I'd be surprised if they're used out in the wild next season but who knows what kind of progress they've made.

My LS4 on my 1S broke in half right after I got the skates. Switched to Blackstep and never going back
