So it seems like the P28s is the newest Drury... not in actual pattern layout but popularity for a changing game. When I ask why it is some guys in know that are playing pro say it is because it’s more of a possession game than ever. Heel curves seem to be out while everything is toe. Obviously there are other patterns to play and people that do very well with the dying breed. Anyone here switch to a 28? Anyone love it or end up hating it? Heels are being pushed out of retail and it seems like the world of college hockey consists of P88s, 92s and 28s. Thoughts?

I resisted, but now I use P30 or P28. I find my puck control is better. Not a fan of P92, but it seems that curve is everywhere.

I too carry the puck better with a 28 than a 92. I feel like the P92 is more versatile, surprisingly the P92 lie 5 is rare but for backhand, forehand it’s best for me. Used a Drury for about a year, my best breakaway pattern, pull to a backhand fast, shoot high left or right... low. Lost a lot of pucks off the toe and rush deflections were tough for me.

Just switched a few months ago to P28, and not going back. Absolutely love it.

The Drury pattern never sold well at retail and the E28 doesn't either.  Lots of customers would ask for the E28 because of all the hype driven up by Easton and Scott Bjustad.  We started stocking the pattern and those same customers wouldn't even buy them.  The sticks just sat on shelves.

2 years ago all you would see being used at the youth hockey (Bantam and Midget, mostly) level was P28 though.

Custom everything.

I noticed that with U15s and U17s here. Not that P28 was more popular than P19/P92, but a solid handful+ of the players tried it for a lot of the season. Only 1 really wanted to stick with where the others were pretty frustrated if not outright hating it, wishing that stick would snap so they could get a new one.

90% of the retail sticks we sold were PM9/P88/P92.  We moved more $99 sticks than anything and P28 is not even an option at that price point.

P28 might've been more popular in your area but they were virtually non-existent here.
