So I'm about to put in a custom CCM skate order, and there's a ton of options on the tongue choices. I've only used the 652 tongue and FT1 retail tongue, but have heard a few people recommend the HD tongue (top right in pic) with thicker pro felt. Can anyone weigh in on these options from personal experience?

 

Here are the choices they offer

 

 - Pro FT1 retail

 - Pro AS1 retail

 - Pro 50k

 - lightweight molded

 - 652 tongue

 - 9k pro tongue

 - HD tongue

 - 70k tongue

 - U+CL tongue

 - RBZ tongue

 - 20k tongue

 - 11k tongue

I've found the U+ CL and Ribcor ones to rip laterally with hard use. I'd probably go with the 9K personally, but it's all preference.

This is cool. Do you have the option of getting a tongue shorter in length? I like the pro FT1, which is the 3rd from bottom left I think.

3rd from the bottom left = 3rd from the bottom right.

Similar to Monty22, I’d say 9k or 652.

I used to own a pair of 9K's with 652 tongues and I found them to be the most comfortable tongues CCM Ive ever used.

Damn, I just got the 9090s and they’re pretty nice. Some stiff spots that are getting worked in but the out of the box comfort on those were the nicest I’ve ever felt. Can only imagine how the full custom route will feel. You staying with the SB holders and black steel?

Does any one suggest a certain model tongue for a custom order. Currently in the 1x Pro model tongue. Similar to retail just a beefier lace bite section. Felt same thickness as standard
