General Discussion here about how everyone store your hockey gear. Im very limited on space, as i live in a 500sqft apt with my girlfriend and my fat and smelly English bulldog, you could say things get pretty tight pretty quick. What do you guys do to store your hockey equipment? As of late, after i play i put my gear on hangers, spray it with febrese, then let it hang on the shower curtain rod. After it is dry, i move it to my closet. I was thinking that I may try to get one of these - https://www.amazon.c...da drying rack 

 

I usually never keep everything in my bag once it is dry. I like to let it always breathe (I am very particular about my gear haha)

Anyways, for y'all that are tight on space.

Honestly I play too much to air dry everything after every skate but I do have a spare room I keep it all in and just lay it all out on the floor, crack the window and shoot it with a sanitizing odour spray. All the under garment stuff gets washed but I have quite a few sets of it so I can cycle through before I toss it all in. In the summers I try to lay it all out on the lawn sometimes, your situation is tricky though because hockey gear and women in small areas don't go together lol just as long as you don't leave it all in your bag zipped up, try to seperate it when she's not home and spray it down the way you've been doing but the smell lingers still, we're desensitized to our own hockey stink, all the Febrese in the world never tricked my gf and sometimes I'd have to leave it in my truck bed

Rocket dryer. Right when I get home I put everything that isn't helmet and skates in, flip it on for the max time (like 2 hours), and when it's done it's all dry. Air is heated. I started playing a year ago after about a 10 year hiatus and got pretty much all new gear, and with this method nothing smells. It's fantastic. After it's done I just put it all back in my bag with my skates and helmet on top to keep airdrying.

I can see how that would work well. I have a boot dryer for my skates and it works phenomenally. The warm air gets rid of moisture which doesn't let bacteria grow. I make sure it's on that dryer after every time I play. My skates never ever smell after I take them off the he dryer. I hang dry everything else though. I have two sets of everything except skates so they can dry sufficiently.

I will generally wash most of my stuff in a front load washer once every couple of months or so to keep smell down as well.

I see your boot dryer and raise you two more. Each boot dryer has four posts, so with the 12 posts total, I can fit all my protective on them. My sweaters and socks get washed when they stink, but my gear never does. Febreze + boot dryers = Happy wife (therefore happy life)

 

The other cure for stanky gear / small place is to move the heck out of DC. When we moved back to Michigan, I found way more places to store my geareverythingything else, for that matter. Go Caps! none the less.

Thanks for all the replies, boys. I went with that amazon portable dryer and it has worked out really well so far for me. I let it dry for about 2 hours and just leave it hanging in the closet. So we have a great success! 

 

What boot dryer would you guys recommend?
